”I think in terms of the day’s resolutions, not the year’s” — Henry Moore
We are a week into the new year already, and hopefully you’ve settled back into some sort of routine, whatever that means for you.
If you made any New Years resolutions, what are they, and are you sticking to them?
I’m not one for making resolutions, and agree with the Henry Moore quote above. I prefer to make little changes for the better as I go along, rather than put pressure on myself once a year.
Lots of you have mentioned a loss of enthusiasm and/or inspiration recently, when it comes to your photography.
I’m pretty sure the dark days of winter have a lot to do with it, and can assure you that I felt the same during November.
I’m adamant that ‘Photographers Block’ is a real thing!
Thankfully the days are gradually getting longer, and it’s amazing what a difference a few extra minutes of daylight can make to mood, energy levels and motivation.
Challenge yourself in 2019
If you’re really stuck for inspiration you could always join in with a photography challenge. A quick Google search will uncover lots of them to choose from.
I’ve done a couple of them in the past, mainly to get me into the habit of posting a photo every day, with the idea being that you take part for the entire twelve months.
If that sounds a little too ‘full on’, just modify the prompts and ideas to suit yourself.
Post a photo a week, or a photo a month, or even just post for five days at a time.
You’ll have completed your first three months before you even know it!
